Bastide Towns

The above lake is man made, situated
at Montaigu de Quercy with amaizing white sands,
there are plenty of facilities from bathing equipment,
cafe & toilets etc. Montaigu is less than
10 minutes away by car and is even within cycling
distance.
Lacour de Visa is in the heart
of bastide country. The bastide towns of Beauville,
Lauzertr, Castlsagrat, Tournon d'Agenais, Puymirol
and Frepech offer many hours of exploring these
fortified ancient wonders. For a stroll througha
small village of real delight you could visit
Montjoi with its arched entrance gate to its timbered
and corbelled houses and its covered passage,
well, squares and streets and then stop to admire
the view across the Seoune valley next to a lake,
it has a charming Place Centrale with half timbered
houses, a well, market place and the remains of
Clunisian abbey. At the museum of rural life and
crafts you can find a workshop, wood turning,
lathe and cart making.

A side street in Beauville.
