The village of St Circ-Lapopie

For a day out you could visit Saint-Cirq-Lapopie on the River Lot. This place has shady streets lined with narrow wood panelled or stone houses, craft shops and galleries with painted signs, preserving such traditional skills as copper beating, leather work and wood turning. Down below the village a towpath runs along the River Lot, this is one of the dramatic walking trails in the valley. The Lot valley can be explored from here by mini rail, 1950's railcar or by barge.
